One stop shop on the doorstep
In 2016, John Birch took the decision to join the ranks of the struggling artist! He has spent the time since turning a lifelong passion into a profession; becoming a freelance wildlife photographer and writer.
Despite turning professional only recently, John has seen his photographs and illustrated articles published in a wide variety of publications and magazines including Bird Watching; The 2017 BBC Countryfile Calendar; The Great Outdoors; Telegraph Traveller; National Geographic Online; The Guardian; World of Animals; Wildlife Photographic and Lonely Planet Traveller.
He has now developed his business to sales of fine art photographic prints.
John Birch was looking for a supplier to streamline his ordering process to enable him to spend more time shooting wildlife and less time trying to co-ordinate assembling his orders. He initially contacted us here at Precision Imaging to see if we could help with his framing needs but soon realised we offered much more.
John went from using 3 suppliers in 2 countries to just one supplier a few miles from his office Sales of his framed wildlife photography increased by 1000%
His gross margin increased hugely and the shipping costs were slashed.
Where issues arise, they can be dealt with quickly and professionally with a personal service rather than the remoteness of an internet link.
We were able to help John by talking him through the different fine art paper options available, and by printing his photographs on a range of different media to help him pinpoint the paper that best suited his work. Once John had chosen Natural Soft Textured, our popular 315gsm giclée fine art paper, we went through the different framing options.
John chose an antique white mount to add offset his monochrome images and a thin black wooden frame, to ensure that the frame didn’t draw any attention away from the photos. We produced one frame initially for John to see the finished product – he liked it so we set about creating the prints and frames for his first order, for his stall at the BBC Countryfile Live show at Blenheim Palace.
The show took place in early August 2017 and John was delighted with the sales at the event.
“I really had no idea what to expect in terms of sales. It is very difficult to be objective about your own work so I was delighted to receive a huge amount of interest that converted into sales of 7 fine art prints at the show and several orders since. Without the support from Precision Imaging, this would simply not have been possible”
